BAHTNET (Bank of Thailand Automated High-value Transfer Network) is a large-value money transfer system of the Bank of Thailand used for large transactions from 1 million baht upwards, such as interbank debt settlement, money market transactions and large-value payments of the public and private sectors.
How is BAHTNET different from ORFT?
BAHTNET is a RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) system for large transactions that pay in real-time on a single item, while ORFT (Online Retail Fund Transfer) is used for small transactions that pay in batch settlement. BAHTNET is more secure and suitable for high-value transactions.
Who can use BAHTNET?
BAHTNET is open to members licensed by the Bank of Thailand, including commercial banks, specialised financial institutions, securities companies and some government agencies. General customers use the service through their bank.
