Built for the complete search intent

Calculate taxable income before applying Thailand’s 0%-35% brackets

This calculator applies the employment expense deduction, personal allowance and the deductions you enter before calculating progressive tax. That makes it more useful than a gross-income-only estimate, while keeping cross-border and treaty questions outside the result.

Decision checklist

What an expat should confirm separately

The calculator estimates ordinary employment-income tax. It does not decide residence, source, remittance or treaty treatment.

  1. 01

Count actual days present in Thailand for the relevant calendar year.

  2. 02

Separate Thai-source employment income from foreign-source income and document when income was derived and remitted.

  3. 03

Check whether a double-tax agreement, tax credit or special regime applies to the facts.

  4. 04

Reconcile the estimate with withholding certificates and the correct Revenue Department return.

Questions

Common questions

Are foreigners subject to Thai personal income tax?

Tax treatment depends on Thai-source income, residence status, remittances, applicable law and tax treaties. The calculator only estimates ordinary progressive tax on the income entered.

Is the personal allowance applied automatically?

Yes. The calculator applies the standard personal allowance used by the shared Thai tax engine.

What does the withholding balance mean?

It subtracts the amount you entered as tax already withheld from the estimated annual tax. It is not a guaranteed refund or payment because credits, other income and Revenue Department adjustments are not modelled.
