What is car insurance?

Car insurance is an insurance policy that the owner of the car chooses to do, aside from the P. D. to protect his car, his property, and medical expenses, divided into 5 layers of protection.

Class 1 — Maximum coverage

The most comprehensive coverage suitable for new or high value cars:

  • Damage to own car.
  • Fire and natural disasters (including floods)
  • The car was stolen.
  • Liability for personal property outside.
  • Responsibility for the life and body of an outsider.
  • Driver and passenger medical costs.
  • Driver's insurance.

Class 2+ — collision protection.

Increased protection from level 2 by covering collision damages to other vehicles. Ideal for those who want to protect their own car at an affordable price.

Class 2 — fire, theft, outsiders.

3 Main components: Fire, theft and third party liability No collision coverage

Insurance class 3+ and class 3 — minimum premium

Level 3 covers only third party liability, the lowest premium, suitable for older cars, and level 3+ provides additional coverage in case of collision with other vehicles.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between car insurance class 1, 2+, 2, 3+, 3?
Level 1, the best cover for your own car, fire, theft, flood and outsiders Level 2+, collision + fire + theft + outsiders Level 2, collision + fire + theft + outsiders Level 3+, collision + vehicle + outsiders Level 3, outsiders only, the lowest premium
What is the 1-5 group of cars?
Insurance companies group cars according to risk. Group 1 is small economy car (City, Vios) with the lowest premium Group 2 is mid-size sedan (Civic, Corolla) Group 3 is van/SUV (Hilux, Fortuner) Group 4 is luxury car (Benz C, BMW 3) Group 5 is sports/premium car with the highest premium
How does the age of the car affect the premium?
New cars will have higher premiums because of the higher capital. When the old car goes down, the capital decreases as a result of depreciation, and the premiums decrease accordingly. But very old cars may have restrictions on the insurance class 1. Some companies accept cars not older than 7-10 years.
Young drivers pay more?
Yes, drivers under 25 usually get a 10-20% premium because of their higher accident rate, while drivers between 35 and 50 may get a small discount.
What is the capital difference from the car's value?
The capital is the maximum amount that the company will pay if the car is damaged. Usually it decreases with the depreciation of the car. For example, a car priced at 1,000,000 baht and age 3 years, the capital may be 760,000 baht. The value of the car is the current market price.

  2. Run a second car insurance case after changing the rate, period, quantity or other key assumption.
  3. Record the difference between the two car insurance results and the input responsible for it.

Inputs for the car insurance estimate

For this car insurance calculation, check the vehicle price or cost, payment period, applicable rate, usage and provider charges shown on the page. The result is designed to show a vehicle-cost estimate for the scenario you entered, not a guaranteed provider price or official decision.

How the car insurance result is calculated

The calculator compares the selected dates using calendar-based intervals and the date rules shown on the page. Reusing the same car insurance inputs will produce the same estimate, which makes the page suitable for controlled scenario comparisons.

Checks for a car insurance decision

Compare the estimate with a current written quote and include insurance, registration and other ownership costs. For car insurance, Use the estimate to compare scenarios. Actual premiums, cover, exclusions, excesses and acceptance are set by the insurer and can differ from this planning result. Check the important inputs and any current provider or authority rules before using the result for a decision.
